Quilt Scraps to Pin Cushions

I couldn't let these tiny scraps of vintage fabric disappear into the scrap pile so I made this adorable tiny pinwheel pin cushion.  It's perfectly useful sitting to the side of my machine.

Sugar Bear Quilt . Baby Quilt Version

Pattern from Southern Charm Quilts

Using a ton of my favorite collection of Heather Ross as the starting point, I gathered all sorts of cute animal prints in blues, greens and yellows with some peach accents to create this baby quilt.
It was fun trying my hand at fussy cutting. Will have to do some close up photos and the backing is to die for so photos of that are incoming.

 Happy Quilting

My Sugar Bear Quilt Athill Cottage Rose Version . Started in 2021

I used tons of my low volume stash and some tea dyed cotton eyelets from my vintage stash

It's going to be so fun hand-quilting this one.  Think I'm actually going to get started quilting this one soon...maybe I will wait until Fall starts because getting under this quilt is going to be a little too cozy as it's in the 90s here now.  I used wool batting with this one and cannot wait to see how that differs from my usual go to of natural cotton batting.

QUILTING | my new shop listing, MYSTERY Cottage Charm Quilts

my MYSTERY Cottage Charm Quilts ♥

I'm offering a new type of Made to Order quilt in the shop.... it's an idea I had for Fall based on this new trend .... Mystery boxes.  What's better for Fall than a good Mystery, right...

and what's also great for Fall... a new quilt!

SEWING | project bags and zipper pouches

I've been busy making vinyl front project bags!

Find them in my shop

I found that these are super handy to keep your stitching projects organized while traveling or even at home.  I use them to keep projects in at home too so that I keep my threads and supplies all together.  It's so easy to grab a project to work on that way.

This turquoise, vinyl front, zipper project bag is X-large to hold an 11" Qsnap frame.  This works great for those large Sampler cross-stitch patterns or for EPP projects.  It's in the shop at a great price for this size bag... $58.00 plus tax and shipping.  I ship using USPS and always provide a tracking number and insurance and have had no problems with delays so far.

SPRING SEWING | a sugarbear quilt along

I've joined the SugarBear Quilt Along hosted by @southerncharmquilts and @havels_sewing

I thought I'd share my fabric selection, a little about the pattern and the first three blocks I've completed.

This block is Imani.  It's my favorite block so far!  I decided to use a tiny stripe for the points and I think it is so whimsical!  Also I'm bringing in some characters in the corners that are making me smile. Who doesn't love a ballerina and peter pan!

Fabric Pull.  I do wish I had more of the super soft blue... I only had two pieces at first but I found the soft grey blue with tiny cream stars and it seems to work. I added in some solid Kona pink and lavender to create pops of color.  Also adding in the black and cream stripes and ginghams.

See Melanie's pattern and more of my blocks and about the fabrics...
